On December 13, 2021, the Federal Minister of International Trade, the Hon. Mary Ng, tabled official Notice of Intent to enter into negotiations toward a Canada-United Kingdom (U.K.) Free Trade Agreement in the House of Commons. The Canadian Cattlemen's Association is pleased to see this additional step and will continue to advocate for a trade agreement that includes export opportunities for Canadian beef.
The Government of Canada intends to commence negotiations by holding a first round of negotiations with the U.K. no earlier than 90 days from the date of the official notice on December 10, 2021.
