Cattlemen’s Young Leaders Mentorship Program celebrates 2019 & 2020 graduates

The Cattlemen’s Young Leaders Mentorship (CYL) Program hosted a virtual graduation celebration for its 2019 and 2020 program graduates on September 30, 2021. The CYL Program is a national initiative through the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association and offers young people ages 18-35 mentorship opportunities specific to their area of interest in the beef cattle sector.

The celebration included program sponsors, mentors and graduates for an evening of industry networking, as well as spotlight features highlighting the program experiences of a handful of mentorship pairs. Since established in 2010, the CYL Program has now seen over 150 graduates.

To hear from some of the 2019 and 2020 CYL graduates about their time in the program, you can view the graduation videos posted to CYL Twitter and Facebook.

The CYL Program is made possible by the generous support of Foundation Partners Cargill, MNP, McDonald’s Canada and New Holland, and Gold Sponsors Alltech, Farm Credit Canada and RBC Future Launch.

Event MC, Dianne Finstad, moderated mentorship spotlight features throughout the evening including Kathleen Holweger (2019 CYL) and her Mentor, Duane Thompson, and Charlene Yungblut (2020 CYL) and her mentor Matt Bowman.
