On March 22, 2022, young leaders with the Canadian Cattlemen's Association (CCA) participated in the fifth annual youth lobby day at Parliament Hill held in conjunction with the CCA annual general meeting.
Delegates of the CCA's Young Cattlemen's Council, along with a couple participants of the CCA's Cattlemen's Young Leaders Mentorship Program, met with various Parliamentarians in Ottawa to discuss opportunities and challenges of importance to the next generation of Canada's beef industry. Priorities discussed included the important role beef farmers and ranchers play in the climate change solution, the importance of business risk management programs for young producers, and achieving a long-term ambitious FTA with the UK that resolves existing trade limiting factors.
